Wednesday May 18, 2016 � Traffic stop leads to charges for Peterborough
A 48-year-old man is facing charges including obstructing a police officer and carrying a concealed weapon following a traffic stop on May 17, 2016.

Carrying Concealed Weapon/Obstruct Peace Officer Arrest:
Shortly after 8 p.m. on May 17, 2016 an officer on patrol in the area of Simcoe and Bethune Streets saw a vehicle with unauthorized licence plates fail to stop for a stop sign. The officer conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the male driver of the vehicle who refused to identify himself and failed to provide ID.
As a result of the investigation Dean Russell Kory, 48, of Antrim Street, Peterborough, was arrested and charged with obstruct a peace officer. The accused is also facing 10 charges under the Highway Traffic Act including: Disobey stop sign/fail to stop; drive while under suspension; fail to surrender insurance card; use plates not authorized and fail to identify self.
The accused is also facing two charges under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
During the investigation officers located a weapon (prohibited knife) on the accused and he was subsequently charged with carrying a concealed weapon.
The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later today (May 18).
MAN ACCUSED OF MISCHIEF
An ongoing dispute at a Dublin St. rooming home culminated in breaking and entering and mischief charges for a 41-year-old man Wednesday night, city police said.
At about 9 p. m., a man began knocking on his 63-year-old neighbour's door, challenging him to a fight, police said.
Eventually the man kicked in the neighbour's door causing about $150 in damage, police said.
He entered the neighbour's room, but noticed he had armed himself with an axe handle, police said.
Witnesses called police, who charged Dean Russell Kory with mischief under $5,000 and break and enter.
He was held in custody and appeared in court Thursday.
