I think they should make me a Provost Marshall.

Half of these redcoats would get a bullet to the head. Soldiers do that shit without question! (They're just doing their jobs)That would open up EVEN MORE jobs.

All future hires would be NON UNION. Preference would be given to natives. :D

A Royal Appointment would be all it took!

I could clean up the country in a year! Being a Police Officer would be an honour again, and people will strive to meet the standards.

...alas, this will never happen.

Here in REALITY, the RCMP is looking for dumb thugs to collect revenue for people who couldn't get a job in the real world.

Exposure to trauma, violence and disturbing events:

Reality is that as a police officer, you will be exposed to trauma, violence and disturbing situations. But it's important to remember that you are there to help, to provide protection and support in difficult times. Just as it's important to maintain your physical health, it is critical to maintain mental wellness throughout your life and we have programs in place to teach you how to do that, and to provide any support needed.

Despite all this, it will eventually become clear that it has nothing to do with "safety", and you are simply an armed thug.

I sure as fuck don't feel served and protected by the popo. Instead I feel harassed, taxed and threatened by the majority of these goons. If society were a little less fucked we would only have PEACE OFFICERS to keep the peace and PREVENT HARM. Not this current paradigm of victim-less crimes (no harm done) and dubious policy infractions.
