When addressed as the title, then the title is acknowledged when there is a response. YOU is another example.
If you have to ask QUESTIONS about title, you are not qualified to ADDRESS anyone by that title. If YOU ADDRESS me as "Your Grace" then I could be "Duke of Earls", for all I care. It's a TITLE. The TITLE grants AUTHORITY.
It's why I ADDRESS a JUSTICE as MISTER. It doesn't matter their gender is.
