Therein lies the problem. What is the alternative?
Trust me, we're working on/building the answer as we speak. We have at our disposal, things that we, as a species have NEVER had. You take it for granted, that you can communicate INSTANTLY with someone on the other side of the planet. I didn't have that as a youth... so I built it.
...so did hundreds of others. We formed FIDO-NET... I could send a message to the other side of the world in 3 days, through an anarchy of BBS's. Even with 3 days' delay, I found I was more aware of current events, worldwide, than those around me. I learned that NEWS is mostly lies, and half-truths, that way. I learned that we have the shittiest form of government on the planet..,. with the exception of...all of the other ones.
