guys.....everyone in Calif is aware of the FTB....they are like the mafia...they will steal money from your bank account even if you don't owe them money...I was shocked to see that a California Tax agency is now collecting on unpaid parking tickets....unreal!
I had.a bill from the FTB...which I actually didn't owe...it was based on an assessment. ..they send a bill and on the bill it says if you don't pay they can lien your bank account. ..u get one notice and then they take your money. ..it's crazy how the banks do whatever they say without a court order signed by a a judge or a judgment. ..it took me 2 years to clear it up...I was able to get the bank to refund me when I threatened to sue them for criminal conversion...it was a nightmare
The state of Florida has done something similar. The state legislature said that county's can no longer give jail time for unpaid fines, so now they give longer jail sentences, as the state pays $140+- per day per inmate to the county. And the fines go to a collection Agcy.
ex: open container is no longer a night in jail, but 3-5 days.
