NOW here in REALITY: The LandLORD, OWNS THAT. Nothing you signed, changed that reality. It was an EMERGENCY (as defined in the lease) and was within his rights. Nothing about a trust enters into it.

Like it or not, IT'S HIS PROPERTY, and you are just paying to USE it. The terms are quite clear!

The property belongs to city council, they are renovating with an excavator indoors and have zero permits to do so. Had they had the permits and professionals doing the work this water issue would not have happened. They entered into an agreement with ESC CTRL, not me, I'm just a tenant with privacy rights, no?

It qualified as "Emergency". Your imaginary "privacy rights" have nothing to do with it.

It's HIS property and he is legally obligated to protect IT, and the safety of THE PUBLIC. IT SAYS SO IN THE LEASE!

he has no permit to do the work he is doing, there is an excavator in the room next to me. How is he protecting the public? None of it is legal to begin with. He has no permits.

You people seem to think that property rights ONLY APPLY TO YOU, and you ignore the rights of everyone else. He has no permits? GOOD FOR HIM! HE SHOULD BE PROUD! ...but you either own something, or you don't. If you DON'T then POSSESSING it has TERMS AND CONDITIONS. ALWAYS.

I have no problem with lack of permit, but ffs be professional. CALL the tenant, hire people who know how to do the job, it's just less problematic for everyone that way. Oh and I had no intent to call the city. There is no lease or rental agreement, I lived here a year prior in a different apt, I paid the rent cash on time every time. we (ESC CTRL) have a verbal agreement, that is all.

LOL @ David Vilaca (in that ironic way I have of looking at things). I see your point; but Scott and Pete are on the money. You don't own the property and it is a component part of a larger structure. A few other interesting choices for "emergency entry" are gas smell, barking dog, fire...you see where this is going. For now you have a litre of wine - suggest you start drinking it and we take this off-line :)
