L'"Etat" d'une personne est constitu� par l'ensemble des r�gles qui d�finissent la personnalit� juridique d'une personne physique et qui l'individualisent par rapport � sa famille et aux autres personnes. L'�tat d'une personne comprend principalement ses pr�noms et nom de famille, son lieu et sa date de naissance, sa filiation, sa capacit� civile, son domicile, sa situation au regard de l'institution du mariage (c�libataire, mari�, divorc�, ). Les personnes physiques et les personnes morales sont toutes deux des personalit�es juridique. Ce qui les diff�rencient c'est les r�glements qui s'appliquent � chacune d'elles et les documents qui les constituent.
