And maybe install some torpedoes, just in case you run into "fake" pirates or something.

Dunno if you need a passport but Pete these are the boats to look at if you want a bit of living space etc.: http://www.burgessyachts.com/en/sale-purchase-category/yachts-for-sale/

Do you have any idea what the fuel costs are for one of those? Pete had it right the first time, go with wind power. As for living space, you've obviously never been on a large sailboat. No shortage of living space on a Delphia 47! http://en.delphiayachts.eu/yacht/delphia-47/gallery

If you really need more living space than that, you can always go this route: http://www.cata-lagoon.com/lagoon_62012_photographies_uk.php?cat=int

The yachts were an overboard joke, but if you can afford ont then I don't think you really worry too much about the fuel. My personal favourite is relatively "cheap" now and is a sailer: http://www.camperandnicholsons.com/luxury-yachts-for-sale/philanderer-955/

Philanderer has lost a shedload of value in the last 20 yrs. It was $8.2M worth back then. Now only 3.5. A bargain I bet.

Norstar Flicka is 27 feet and was designed for the North Atlantic, (which is a body of water that exists specifically to kill you), but if you can keep moving and have good information as to where you are, you will be able to do it in ANYTHING.

Early peoples did it in dug-outs. With high brows. The earliest settlers in america drew them.
