I've pondered this myself. My understanding for some time was that if the debt was owed to say a corporation it's public. When I first learned about commercial liens I recall a lien last 99 years but should that lien be held by a trust it lasts to infinitum and the lien falls to the heirs/successors. I had a similar situation with my waste disposal company if people remember, Panda? They're a private company that provide a service yet I went the discharge route. They refused payment by returning the completed bill. They still send txt messages to notify me the account is overdue but also still collect my rubbish... How is Leigh's situation different?

The services were reinstated as per the payment arrangement with Walton, the first agent I spoke to about the suspended services, to whom I said the check was in the mail and this is an extortion of monies and he said they will be restored when check is received. I assume they received the check The agent today said it takes approx. 10 days in mail....and that the 22nd to the 29th is 10 days. :/ I said if you can lie about how many days are in a week, you can certainly lie about not receiving check. If they did not receive it then there is a problem with Canada Post. I said because I didn't send it registered mail, ye can lie. I do not consent to disconnection.
