Act of Birth would that be equivalent to the Record of Live Birth?

you have to contact Vital Statistics in the province of your birth and request it tell them you need a certified copy signed, sealed and notarized by the notary in their office. You send them some sheckles and they send it to you in the mail.

The Live Birth Record is just someone witnessing that you came out of your mother. That's not what created the PERSON which they then securitize with the Birth certificate... IF there is a Certificate THEN there MUST be an act. Vital statistics would be the place !

Todd, you don't seem to have it in your set of choices in British Columbia. You could call them to see if they have an equivalent.

Thanks all and especially Cara Small. I just phoned and "ordered" my certified copy of a birth registration. I think this will be very useful. Pete Daoust I believe this is the equivalent of what you require in Quebec called the Act of Birth.
