If the global economy is like a "closed-looped-network" or like a circuit. Everything is controlled with inflows and outflows, or accounting. Currently, the entire monetary system is managed by a few organizations. Bitcoin completely disrupts that flow, call it a short circuit. But, the short-circuit can possibly destroy the entire fiat monetary system. Governments, use monetary policy or commerce to regulate everything, the accounting...

Correct Pete :D My post was not communicated accurately. Jason Moreland summed it up nicely. When it is not within their jurisdiction or control then it is a threat to their racket. Legislating Bitcoin gives the appearance of acceptance/legitimacy in the people's eyes. Too bad they are too blind to see that what the government appears to give to the PERSON with the hand of legislation they already plan to take away with the other.

A common tactic of Govs is implementation of "seemingly" harmless legislation to later jack it up to the Nth degree. I call this the "foot in the door" tactic. We scoff at what seems to be bewildering stupidity but WHAT is up their sleeve? The goal is to "take a cut" via control. Can we predict the next stages for this plan of attack? I must agree though, the "general public" don't grasp WHY crypto-currencies were invented. They have no idea this is WAR.

What a stupid waste of time by a fucking inept administration. Same as the Australian government who flag every transaction made with Australian dollars through any international crypto-currency exchanges. No points for guessing what happens when a centralized command and control centre tries to take on a decentralized currency.

I wonder if this might also be a tactic for government to find out who is accepting bitcoins for services with their business. Perhaps they will start getting people to rat out on those businesses and then the government will start targeting them for whatever shit they can throw at them. Perhaps to dissuade people from using them..... Just a thought.
