Idle curiosity...you presumably applied for a "driver's licence". Why didn't you just pay the ticket?

Are you sure those two things are mutually required? The license doesn't necessarily prove "SURETY" does it?

I don't have any details of what you have done. How did you send this? Who did you sent this to? Have you submitted/signed anything? What affidavit did you submitted? It could be you gave nothing in consideration, just a plain copy of the BC, but not the actual bond. Maybe the accounting was not settled? I don't know. Do you know why you used the notice of mistake? :/ I don't know what to tell you, but they are still looking for the surety, and the account has not been settled, that's for sure.

JJ, you were added 2 days ago to this group, and you went full blasted with the Notice of Mistake? :/ Ho, that's bold! If you like living dangerously, some danger might be coming your way. All, for a traffic ticket. :(

I dunno, you tell me. You applied for it, tested for it, provided your name, birth date and picture (which is included on it), signed it, and periodically pay for the privilege of ensuring the contract is still in force. I assume you have read the terms and conditions in the highway traffic act as well to determine your contractual obligations. That wasn't really my point though. I just thought it might be cheaper and less annoying to pay the ticket.

Tara, point well taken. I have a license because I don't want to be tazed, beaten, shot, etc. by the armed enforcers (police) if they pull me over.

@Scott - yes I did miss that step. So now what - pay the fine? I could probably get it reduced by going in to court.

Admiral Scott, should good administrators make sure to give notice that the person resigns from government service? I thought I had to do that only if I went into a private trust.

You do have to do it for a private trust, but you must ALSO do it to remove surety for SHIT YOU APPLIED FOR.

So after you resign from government service, what do you do when a cop pulls you over and you have no license or registration? They could easily escalate the situation and beat you, or possibly even murder you and get away with it.

Did you know, that people will drive you around for Fiat Currency? IT'S TRUE! In fact, from 1998 to around 2006 we owned a limousine, and Paid a driver 20k a year to drive us wherever we wanted!

So that's how it's done. A driver. :D Now there is finally a use for those illegal aliens with a driver license. I can get me a Mexican illegal alien to drive me around for about 5 grand a year, and all the chimichangas he can eat.

Well, unfortunately I need to drive when I'm in CA. to help run errands for my elderly grandparents, and if I'm pulled over with a suspended license they could arrest me and impound my vehicle. So is there another option that a person in this situation could take so as to not pay the bail amount AND keep their license? (besides hiring a driver)

I had a friend who would conditionally accept these type of things and ask for proof he was acting in that capacity at the time and had a duty to perform. He would demand payroll records substantiating the claim etc. He did get several traffic tickets dropped in this manner. Is this a better route for those who haven't resigned?

Eli, you do that with an affidavit with Notice of Mistake as Exhibit(__ days to reply), then Notice of Dishonour - Opportunity to Cure (if you wanna be "nice"), then Certificate of Non-Response (Notarized).
