Yes Pete Daoust I have, when I needed to give a mate payment but didn't have available cash & we weren't near a cash machine/automatic teller.
But I haven't yet tried by creating a Bill of Exchange, however it makes logical sense.
The mechanics of the process appears to be the same as transferring 'money' from one account to another by way of cheque eg: from Bank account A to Bank Account B, but instead drawing it as cash
