somthing else you might want to think about is investing in some local organic gardeners. by trading them for their produce you help them to do more AND open up channels for obtaining supplies off the government path.
find somone to buy an acre of land with water in exchange for metal. you can garden that land. invest in things which will produce you more. buy a john deer or kabota loader w/trailer and start an orchard.
