So I guess it just comes down to perspective, does it not? You see it as exchange for life. I see it as you already have life but want it to be better than the one the officer is offering. At the very basic level those with the most POWER of manipulation wins in this game, either by mind games or by force. Life is what you make it. Which level you are willing to operate on and die for is the real factor.
