Hmmmmm. Maybe. Why would it lead to an emotional response? I am curious why you would say that. I have separated the two and am wondering if you are suggesting they are of the same. Questioning and emotion. I DO think that some emotions are powerful and useful at the right time, but I think I wouldn't want to make decisions about my actions just because I feel hurt, or just because I feel sad, or just because I feel horny. I am amazed at how my body CAN react without thought tho. Extremely useful tool. Maybe I am confusing reaction with emotion. Or vice versa.

I had come to the conclusion that "emotions" are in the opposite direction of logic. When I observe nature, I can't see "emotions". You can clearly see the hand of man there, then.

Just like a computer program, our brain has been programmed. ALL of it. Not one single cell has an original thought.... yet. That's reality. So, our "programming" works with the input of words, and images. We are programmed to assign and/or subtract VALUE to these words, and images. Janick. I think you asked a great question about raising children to not be programmed. It is something I have struggled with for the whole of my motherhood. One thing I can say is never stop them from asking questions and if you can't answer something, with facts to back it up or real knowledge on the subject, then say "I don't know." Sometimes I tell my daughters what I THINK and then we look into it. But I try to never assert something that I was only "taught" or "told" was so (now). There was a while in time when I DID teach them what I believed. Erasing all belief, ALL, is the only thing that has helped me be a better mother.

I don't know I am ever going to get ALL belief to stop rearing it's ugly head, but I no longer use the word and anytime it creeps up in conversation I get annoyed at the waste of time. If I can erase beliefs and encourage my daughters to keep asking questions, only settling for verifiable fact, at least I am not forcing MY stupid programming down their throat.

My one daughter is still in the fool system and the other is doing her own thing at this point. They were never told they had to accept whatever the teachers were spewing and were allowed to question ANY (including my own) posing authority. Of course this sets them up for some "attention". We stand behind them at these times as long as they didn't harm anyone and feelings don't really count. At the least they don't warrant discipline. Discussion, but not discipline.

I would like to hear what some one like Scott thinks about this subject, but I don't blame him for not delving into that area. I DO know that he will agree that ALL BELIEF is evil.

First, I don't think advanced calculus can be tought to a 4 year old (from what I read)

YOU:

You is usually a second person pronoun.

Someone who says they have to go by a narrative in their head isn't free and consumed by the VIRUS.

But if you don't want to be free from even the constructs in your head. You don't want to be free. And that's okay. There is no safety in freedom, no comfort, and a lot of hard work. I addressed only one aspect of the ruling, and truthfully that was all I read, and my comments were meant to address that point and only that point. Then my attention was drawn to something SMS Mowe posted on the Quatloos forum. (They like to stalk my FB page and then discuss it and me.) Many of the posters there (like arayder) can only resort to constant personal attacks, and attempting to have any meaningful dialogue there is like trying to have a grown up discussion in a Chucky Cheese. SMS Mowes however I would be willing to converse and engage with, as they seem quite intelligent, and are usually logical and dignified in their approach. In any event reading their post brought to my attention some more passages from the previous ruling which I would like to bring to your attention and comment upon in places.
