WIKI "A "television set",..., is a device that combines a tuner, display, and speakers for the purpose of viewing television."
If the tuner, display or speakers are separate, would one still have a television "SET"?
Would a computer with a receiver be considered a "television set"?
Just a couple of left field questions. :P
I have seen a few Youtubies, even with cops, at the door turned away by simply standing their ground. We don't have this here is Canada so I don't bother with stating any opinion. The questions I presented were a simple argument showing a possible work around. That's all.
Do you therefore think it to be a "contract offer?
It's permission to drive your T.V. over in in UK. Mr. Bean, Benny Hill, one of the two Ronnie's or Monty Python started the craze. Then, like all good things, came the regulations.
Discussing their definitions of the terms used is negotiation accepting their offer to contract. "Who the fuck are you" is the only question I should be asking... :D
If you received reminder(s) of this fee from the tv licence dept. would you write NEW ORIGINAL on the top of the latest one and then void on the signature?
If someone accepted the terms of such a 'offer to contract'/order, had mistakenly took it for a Bill/Invoice...
1) could the contract be "Annulled/Voided" whereas all previous paid funds would be returned?;
2) would that someone have to 'settle' with the account cancellation with no further funds exchanged?;
3) is that someone bound to the conditions of the contract and may have to pay funds to end the contract?;
4) it depends on other circumstances?;
5) required to carry out the contract for it's declared duration?
6) other?
I am leaning to #2 and walk away.
If the answer is #1, I think the refund would not be given willingly and action to collect would be required.
Am I over-thinking this?
