From that article " by guaranteeing people money without requiring them to do anything in exchange, we decouple their value in society from their ability to do a job." .... This seems backwards to me. It seems that they are saying " We need you to all stay in this society and stop defecting. Here is some money to stay here and stop searching for answers. Stop looking around and finding freeee dummmmb because it is costing us much money. And those who figure out the correct way to get out are costing us future income from them."... at least that is what I see.
