I suggest since it's all video processing power a PC needs to mine, (bitcoin/dogcoin) that anyone who wants to get your hands on somones old pc, or invest a couple hundred into new cheap hardware and set up a pc dedicated just to mining and not mining from the pc you interact with. just sayin...

It will work I suppose. But how much electricity will you use for each coin mined. I have my setup on fairly decent notebook and I get about 30 khash/s. I mine approx 200 Doge a day. I can't imagine that the old gear would be worth running... but you work with what you have :)

formatting a drive take s a few seconds, big deal. 20 hours installling software, thats a PITA. so what i do is clone that drive for a backup, dedicate it, and store all data on other drives. i also run atleast 2 machines for seperate tasks, since i aquired a netbook a few years ago, it satisfies an additioinal nitch aswell as being portable and doubles as a VoIP phone.

Pete Daoust is actually responsible for me NOT going on a shooting rampage. He showed me that at least SOMEBODY grasps what I am saying. It really does hurt to dumb myself down to this level. Pete is the only reason I'm still here.
