When a negotiable instrument is specially indorsed to another,he cannot strike out his name and insert that of another, and thus give the latter a right to maintain a suit;*"*for if an instrument be indorsed specially to aparticular person without further transfer, noone but such person or his representative can sue on the same;but one who is the holder of an instrument under an indorsement in blank may fill it in his own name before bringing suit,or at the trial or after the trial under certain conditions;^and a holder may always strike out a special indorsement when there are blank indorsements preceding it and bring suit under any indorsement in blank.
