Police have served summons' to "hard to serve" people on FB. Police have gone to the courts complaining they can't serve someone, however, they notice the person is regularly on FB. The courts have started condoning serving a summons in this way. Soon it'll be serving a summons to your phone, maybe even your car's computer. "Hello this is OnStaR, you are to appear in your local Provincial court next Tuesday and reference file #12345. Consider yourself served. Thanks for choosing OnStar. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to help"

If you get one, then will everyone will get one? The courts, judges, cops etc must also have one of these addresses so, ergo... What is good for the goose must also be good for the gander. If we can only win by playing their game with their rules and their weapons, so be it.

Are you sure the person doesnt have an email address? Does the person have a bank account with digital bank ID?:) Maybe another rebuttal - can the state compel a specific form of communication on behalf of another without automatically incurring and assuming liability?

In a commercial world, EVERYTHING is starting to look like an offer to me. The silver lining JUST MIGHT BE a) set your email to STUN (i mean spam) b) conditionally accept the offer with a notice that includes your hourly rates c) set your email to auto respond a NoM ...what am I missing? There must be even more options.

It has the potential to drag the conditional acceptance concept to the forefront of everyones' awareness... and if email constitutes a digital signature (which is what happens when we apply for an online credit card for example), then aren't they sending us a signed Bill of Exchange when they do this? Print, accept, scan, return...unless I'm missing something :/

There is still the fundamental flaw of actual presentment and acceptance. With registered post you have a third party presenter of sorts who aquires a signature (albeit in a digital pad) but its nevertheless a voluntary authorization of acceptance, whereas opening an email is not. Maybe some family member opened it unauthorized and deleted it...the email presentment legislation is just like a corp sending you a letter/bill ect via normal post...there's no evidence YOU received it, only that it may have been sent. It's simply the logical progression of democracy to end in totalitarianism, because the trustees realize every offer they make to the beneficiaries of indenture adjustment in alleged compliance with the settlers intent is generally accepted by majority via conduct and behavior...there is always the private though that us governed by the right to contract. That will never go away because its the exact grounds upon which the public use to continue legislating.

At the end of the day - if the email message is of any real importance and remains unanswered you will eventually get something or someone of SUBSTANCE at your postbox and/or door - because all roads of remedy and recourse do generally if not settled privately, eventually end in the court.

Ok...Pete, so you have other boats to sail in obviously...the legislation includes corporations/businesses ect...so there will be an administrative rebuttal nessasary at some stage unless you've got alternative means:-)

if it 'includes corporations/businesses', then by the maxim: the inclusion of one thing is the exclusion of the other, does that imply that it DOES NOT include the person? ;-)

Maybe this would be a solution Blake Gardner..... 1. Create a gmail or hotmail address 2. Send, via registered mail, to the government that new email address, and instruct them that this is the OFFICIAL email address for the person you happen to have in your pocket 3. Don't forget to give them the PASSWORD of that new official person's email address, to replace the defunct postal code. :-D I would DEFINITLY do this, seriously... :-D
