He supports my position that protests are pointless, and presents reasons I didn't.

I said that line once, it got a lot of people pretty butt-hurt when I said protests are like appealing to your rapist. Which is why I don't talk much, people get butt-hurt so easy.

Show me ONE protest that the public was ACCURATELY informed about. Ask any protester at the G20, what it's about, and you will get a different answer than the last one you asked. News media reports the dumbest sound bytes they get on camera. RAISES PUBLIC AWARENESS? REALLY? Ok, tell me, David... when was the last time you learned about ANY important issue because of a "protest" (Try not to lie). Now look a what you learn HERE.

Sorry, I occasionally have 'other stuff' to take care of. how about the hemp festival. 22 years! and pot is decriminalized, soon to be legalized. in massachusetts anyways, allready legalized in Rhode Island & Vermont. (however 'legal' that may be)... ailbet the term decriminalized is probably a negative like "not guilty".

sleeping till 11 for some can be the right thing to value. especially when one cant get to sleep till sunrise. i dont typically eat (all day) till ~10pm, because then once i eat, i want to keep eating. all the stores are closed by 11pm around these parts except for 'quickie mart' and thats a 20 minute ride. so i eat less and value sleep. (lost another 5er, down to 185 from 218~), and i lost 30# eating macdonnalds! and instead of buying food (somthing that can expire), i may buy a piece of silver and touch that for a few hours! LOL

NONE OF WHAT YOU DESCRIBED HAPPENED BECAUSE OF ANY "PROTEST". EVER. ...not even a little bit. It's CASE LAW and challenges to existing law that changed it, not a bunch of potheads going to a "festival" (Hardly a protest.). Seriously, lay off the indica. it stops your brain from working.

the challenges to existing law occur due to the work of those whom attend and chair the festival. getting stuff on ballots so the voters make a determination.

Canadian truckers will shut down Toronto :D To protest :D Now, I wonder how many millions liters of fuel will be spent on that day, to protest, how much TAXES will be collected from these million liters of fuel.... And all the hamburgers (truckers eat hamburgers :D ) Am I the only one who think at this stuff ?...it's surely like protesting against someone, and giving him a tip on the way :D HAHAHA!!!!
