After reading, one can notice there is not a single mention of the words man, woman, citizen, persons, etc. This "mission statement" is extrictly for THEIR COMMUNITIES. They always reffer in the statement to "our communities", which clearly does NOT include "the people". That's a mission statement FOR THEIR COMMUNITIES! :D

The need for sensitivity to the pluralistic, multiracial and multicultural character of Ontario society. 6. The need to ensure that police forces are representative of the communities they serve. R.S.O. 1990, c. P.15, s. 1.

"Acts" are extrictly for the members of THEIR COMMUNITIES. We are NOT in the Club. Unless we want to "act" as surety for the legal name, and/or unless you sign an Oath, and/or a contract. I also wonder what they mean with "police services." "Peace officer," "Police" and "law enforcement officer" are NOT the same. At least in the US, law enforcement officers are there not to protect, and serve, but to ENFORCE THE LAW to the code breakers. By USING FORCE if necessary. That's it. I'm not clear in Canada, but it has got to be the same. So, I "believe" there is a play of words here that one has to be attentive.

Here in Canada I if punch a pig in the face the charge would be assaulting a peace officer.
