They need the signature of the "Authorized Representative" for the NAME at the top of the check, which is your legal person ;)

on mine it says 'authorised signature'

there is micro print text on all paper dollars too. you can scan them with old equipment and software. even at 3000dpi it is not easily legible.

These pics are of a Prospera Credit Union cheque. The signature line does not have anything about authorized signature printed in the line however, as you can see, the outer border. The photo is taken at 100x.
