The upon receipt term... allows you to go after them immediately by placing a lien if they do not pay... in alberta we have what is called a mechanics lien that needs to be filed within 45 days of the job being completed.. with the 30, 60 , 90, day notice... you can not file a lien after 45 days... a built in Catch 22. So IMMEDIATELY UPON RECEIPT... un-catch 22
