That's what they said when they ousted Hosni Mubarak. Nothing has changed.

When you have a population as dumbed down as Egypt, revolutions don't work, because the touchy question of "who's qualified to lead" is ignored. Then they "succeed".

...then what. What takes over?

The dumbing down of the U.S. is for this purpose. Revolutions may come, but the people who are overthrown simply have to stand aside while the unqualified rule. Revolution happens, and everyone gets their jobs back, because the "old guard" was "better". This will happen in Egypt after 2 more revolutions.

The people haven't "taken their power back". The Egyptian military is ALLOWING them to (peacefully) protest, so they can publicly oust Morsi under the appearance of "working WITH the people", as long as they STAY peaceful. I think the important question to be asking is, what do they think the Military Police are going to do once THEY have seized control? I'm SURE number 1 on their to-do list is going to be the setting up of a nice, Democratic election...

It was the Republic that dominated the Democracy. The corporate veil was lifted and the military on behalf of the people allowed it to happen.

I hate when people say history is being made because in most cases it's just being repeated.

Do you reeeeeaaaally believe that after all the celebrating last night, the NICE armed forces woke up this morning, bright-eyes and bushy-tailed, and started implementing a new regime FOR the people's best interests? With no president, the military is in charge at the moment. They also have the weapons, and numbers, to maintain that control. Why would they give it up, out of the goodness of their hearts? Not very likely...

Sheerien Carter, I'm descended from the makers of the "Rabbit Hole" and is just second nature to me. I got "kicked out" because I didn't want to be a parasite. If Egypt was truly "waking up", they would have realized a few things. First, (and this one should be BLATANTLY obvious), that they JUST did this a year ago and obviously...it didn't go so well. And second, that putting ARMED THUGS in charge is in NO WAY, by ANY stretch of the imagination, a step FORWARD.

...and almost 10 million are dead from the D.R. Congo Civil war. Nobody noticed Zaire dying. Look there. Want to see Egypt's future... there it is.
