I don't have a passport, never did....

Isn't a passport only valuable to a country(corporation) other then the issueing country as maybe a (guessing here) 'Insurance Bond'?

My friend signed his passport with his signature as small as possible, then filled-up the rest of the space with- NON ASSUMPSIT, WITHOUT PREJUDICE, ALL RIGHTS RESERVED...wherever he travels, customs is VERY intrigued with him, but he's said he doesnt get any hassles
