I have the fourth edition. I can't afford the latest so if I reply to a presentment I always put all rights reserved and I reserve the right to apply meanings and or definitions of all words contained within your current and future documents from the Fourth Edition of Blacks Law.
http://www.republicsg.info/Dictionaries.asp . They are all there and plenty more . I still bought a couple as i will always prefer paper books over reading a screen .
@Scott. Local solicitors & colleagues who are well read in law prefer and recommend the 5th Ed even though they also have the 9th. Their argument is that Eds after the 5th have many words omitted.
I have to disagree, if one states which definitions one is using it leaves no doubt."All words contained herein are as defined by the author " at least when creating your own documents.
I have to add everything I say is merely my opinion based on my limited knowledge and am happy to be blown out of the water by superior knowledge. That's how I learn.
Definitely. You can only learn by doing and there may be some shortcuts available if you have a trusted source of superior knowledge such as Scott. NoW when I say shortcut I don't mean that in a lazy sense. If Scott didn't help us we'd have to spend the equivalent of his lifetime trying and testing to arrive at his level, assuming we were endowed with his intellect which I for one am definitely not. ALL HAIL SCOTT !
You could spend all you life time and never ever find the truth. Because we are not qualified to seek the truth. I thank Scott for being who he is. Without him I would be as lost as all the other sheepel. And further more I don't think Scott desires warship. but gratitude. Unless your a hot chick and he want"s to fuck you. Joke implied. :)
Me, it's the opposite, I'm way too intelligent, and I have so much knowledge that I'm all fucked-up, so I take what Scott Duncan dare to share with us to bring me back to Standard Capacity :D
Learning to remove presumption, is not a waste of effort. If they claim to be speaking legalese, and you speak in their language for NOTICE, it is either an HONOUR or a COURTESY... You get to decide which one it is, depending on their conduct ;)
