so short version...ride check out front of my house, no biggy, I don't drink to speak of anyway...my son calls for a ride so Harm and I jump in her truck to go get him the ride check is set up so that i can exit behind it and not be bothered...on return... I should point out here (for those that don't know) where I live there is a large parking lot that separates my house from the "house of god" thus handy for said ride check...moving on, on our way back I turn down two streets before the check and come in the back way to the parking lot and park where I was originally (next to the ride check) we get out of the truck and proceed around to my yard when we hear "HEY, HEY ..HEY!" by this time I am in my yard when I turn to see it is me he is hollering at, so I wait for him. When he approaches he says "identify yourself", I said "why would I have to do that? and he said "you were driving, under the highway traffic act you have to identify yourself" , and I said well I'm not even in my truck...and he said...well I saw you driving and under the hta you have to identify yourself...this may have went back and forth one two two times as I then said I would not be answering anymore of his questions, and then he got upset and said he would arrest me ...and he did, not to drag this out with too much I said he said...he asked more times than I can count for me to give him my name and I returned with "I'm not answering any of your questions....

so of course this is nerv wracking as, I'm pretty easy going and all, but there was no pussing out, and I really did nothing wrong as far as I could tell anyway, but from the back of the police cruiser with the cuffs cranked on, and Harmony reading them the riot act, (she will have to recant her side) but there were several cops rifling through there code books, not sure why because they assured me I was going to jail if I didn't give them my name...and I had already made up my mind that I had done nothing to warrant this bullshit, so I was planning to see it through regardless...but I will say I was wishing I had Derek's police manual and Scott's "in lieu of..." handy...but I new I could keep my mouth shut and was pretty easy to remember, lol....

so then one cop gets in the car I'm in and they finally think to walk over to my yard and run a plate, thus getting the name, which is fine by me so long as I didn't "give" it...and I did get to see my signature with the small "arr" in there (I smiled) anyway so the cop and his buddy, are taking back and forth about what they can "get" me with/on (while rifling through their code books) there were many suggestions from obstruction, tho I think they were going to threaten Harmony with that, but they up until that point hadn't asked if I had been drinking!...finally they tried that one out...and I wasn't answering any of their questions, or "wanna blow in this here little box?" and same response....

so eventually they let me out of the car and try one more time to identify, and of course nothing had changed then they pried the cuffs off and handed me three tickets...

1) "driver fail to give identification" 2) "fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle" 3) fail to produce insurance card

I would like to say that in the category of things that DID happen..failing to identify could be aleged...in the category of things THAT DID NOT HAPPEN...the other two charges...no one at any time mentioned anything about wanting an insurance card and/or a permit, while sure the answer would have been the same as the rest I gave them...they at no point asked for either...but they charged me for them

amused as I was the fact is the officers at no time asked to see any identification...they did not ask for registration or insurance, they did not ask to see a drivers license and ended up giving offence notices based on made up events.

One has any right one can imagine, until that right one is claiming starts to infringe on the rights of another Man/Woman. However you can claim another PERSONS rights too. First to the tape is the winner!
