Just reminded me of the time I slapped a random plate on my insured car to take my daughter to the movies. I get pulled over and the cop says "how did you get insurance without registration?" I just looked at his crooked teeth and thought, "WHAT? DO YOU RIDE YOUR BIKE TO WORK EVERYDAY?" Not to mention the last encounter with a break in the neighbors place... he says, "Well we're overworked and underpaid."... of course you are! YOU ARE AN IDIOT!

I would say you're 'barking up the wrong tree' but considering your plaintive song...you're 'sweetly singing from the rosebushes...to the rodents'. I see the legal definition focus here...which of course is why I joined a couple of days ago. There are not many who are able to study seriously and have the balls and ovaries to carry this knowledge any further than mouthing off to cops and getting beaten for it...as they deserve...because they should know damn well that cops are just like abused and chained rottweillers....why would you go inside their jurisdiction (chain length)...?
I like the etymological definition of 'authority'. Certainly to be an author make one an authority. One's word is the law and if you write it down you 'authorize' it....and stand on it...understand it because you hold it above you...above your temporary urges that may want you to disregard your promises. If you say so and write so you should back it up with full liability...unto death. To 'stand' on another's writing is ridiculous and irresoponsable....in my opinion. You can make another's 'law' your law and that is contract....an agreement...a mutual understanding for a defined and limited purpose...but never as a universal acceptance granting them 'authority' over you. This is why anyone wearing a uniform and obeying a book or code or 'act' is not an authority at all. How could they be? They didn't write it. Of course the other root of authority is the term for gold...the word is as good as gold....AU is the periodic table of element's symbol for gold and words like aura....and even austere...pertain to ultimate value.
