As a man, and a father, definitely, but in terms of the person, I'm not so sure...when you register the baby human, they/the govt department create a new name that you (or the mother) are listed merely as informants, so my understanding is that they are created as totally separate persons, and it may not have anything to do with their age, but more to do with when they begin to contract in their own right ie: applying for a SIN, drivers licence, passport etc....but I could be talking out my arse.
